INKA TRAIL: 3 DAYS/2 NIGHTS

Day 1: Cusco/Piscacucho/Llulluchapampa

Very early in the morning we are going to pick you up from your hotel in our own bus, and we will depart to Piscacucho Village or Km 82, where starts the Inka Trail. The trekking is along a flat terrain, to get to Miskay where we will have a rest, then we will carry on to get the archaeological remains “Llactapata”, the next stop will be at Wayllabamba village, where we will have lunch, afterwards we will keep walking to get our first campsite in Llulluchapampa. Along the way we are going to have spectacular views of the Vilcanota range where Veronica snow capped is the highest one with an altitude of 5840 meters above sea level, across the Vilcanota River, and the Andean flora and fauna.

Day 2: Llulluchapampa/Phuyupatamarca/Wiñaywayna

After breakfast, we will keep trekking, passing through Andean vegetation to get the highest point of the Inka Trail “Warmiwañuska pass” (dead woman pass ) located at 4200 meters above sea level. Over there we are going to see different ecological levels, after that we will descent to get the Pakaymayo valley, then to get Runkurakay by an ascending way; which was considered in the Inka times as a watchtower. Next we are going to pass over the Second Pass located at 3850 meters above sea level, after that we’ll walk down to get Sayacmarka another archaeological site, just few minutes away is located Chaquicocha (dry lake) where we’ll have lunch, then we will go strecht to get the Third Pass “ Phuyupatamarka” (town over the clouds), located at 3700 meters above sea level, where we will be visiting an impressive building of the same name, which was considered as a sacred complex because of its solid construction with several beatiful water fountains, terraces and watchtower, then we have to descend to get Wiñaywayna (forever young), located at 2700 meters above sea level, there will be the last campsite, where will find a restaurant, but the most impressive is Wiñaywayna archaeological complex itself, that is surrounded by agricultural terraces, with magnificent buildings, fourteen beautiful water fountains.
During this long trek you will enjoy the changing weather since Andean one to get eyebrow jungle weather, passing through Inka tunnels, without forgetting the great variety of flora especially famous orchids and about fauna mainly the Spectacled Bear (Tremarctus Ornatus), different sparrows and the most fabulous views of the Urubamba or Vilcanota range as well the river of the sacred valley of the Inkas.

3 Day: Wiñaywayna/Machupicchu/Cusco

This day we are going to have breakfast very early in the mornig, for getting Inti Punku (Sun´s gate), from there we could see the sunrise and a panoramic view of the sacred citadel of the Inkas “Machupicchu”(Old mountain) “if the weather allows it”, then we descend around 30 minutes to get Machupicchu. After having registered your admission in the control point, immediately starts a complete guided visit around three hours, after the tour you will have free time for walking around, you can visit the Inka Bridge, climb Waynapicchu mountain up (young mountain), where you can see spectacular views of the valleys and mountains that surround it, later on you can take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town, and if you want to relax, you can enjoy the hot spring, in the same town, finally we return to cusco by train.

Opcional service: If you want to spend extra night in Machupicchu or Aguas Calientes, and back for visiting the next day Machupicchu, only you have to pay the additional cost of the entrance fee, and then in case of the hotel is possible we book it, because there are differents categories.
